The St Johns County $36M beach renourishment project for Ponte Vedra Beach, where sand will be pumped in from the ocean to help protect against storms and prevent future erosion, has begun. The dredging work started March 29 just north of the Ponte Vedra Inn and Club, and it will finish up in the 1300 block of Ponte Vedra Boulevard in late June. Below is a look at the projected timeline, and here is an interactive map of the progress.

Local groups have been working tirelessly to push this through.

Ponte Vedra Beach, FL

In just 44 days, 1329 Ponte Vedra Boulevard closed at a new NE Florida record high sales price of $16,250,000. The home is still a few months away from completion.

"This is one of the most beautiful oceanfront homes in Ponte Vedra Beach," says real estate agent Gwinn Volen of Keller Williams Luxury. "It's sleek, modern and incredibly well-built."

Volen sourced and worked with both the seller and buyer to pull the transaction together.

"I'm not at all surprised that the home sold so quickly," says Volen. "Ponte Vedra Beach's oceanfront property has been undervalued in my opinion, and our market is finally…

At long last, Ponte Vedra Beach has another coffee option besides Starbucks! Nothing against Starbucks of course, but the area has been in desperate need of more than just a Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts or diner alternative for the coffee lovers of Ponte Vedra Beach.

There is a lot of buzz about where the housing market is going.  A quick Google News search on the term "real estate market," shows there were over 2400 articles about the housing marketing in the last seven days.

We have seen some changes in the real estate market in the last few weeks, but nothing earth-shattering or dire is happening. And if you click past the headlines in most of these articles you will see that experts are not predicting a housing market crash. A stabilization? Sure. A crash? No. There may be some Chicken Littles out there who feel differently, but the experts and the data aren't on board with the crash theory.

Hurricane Matthew and Hurricane Irma were the first two hurricanes to hit the Jacksonville area with any consequence in many years. With them came an increased awareness of our changing coastlines. I met recently with Lori Moffett and Beth Angelo, two Ponte Vedra Beach residents involved in bringing the issues surrounding our beaches to the forefront of our government officials minds, to learn more about the restoration projects queued up.

The reconstruction of our beach has three potential phases with different requirements needed from the community, said Moffett, founding member of Friends of…
