Graduation Gift Ideas

In stating the obvious, graduations have been a little different this year. Without the parties and usual retail stroll, getting a gift to mark the occasion might have slipped off some to-do lists. If your daily feed is loaded up with celebratory posts and you are inspired to send a present, here are a few ideas.

Kindergarten:

Bubbles and books: A  few recommendations from a PVPV/Rawlings teacher are “The Night Before First Grade” or “Julie B Jones is a Graduation Girl”. Order for pick-up from our local independent bookstore, BookMark or visit Books A Million which has re-opened in Marsh Landing Parkway.

Middle school:

Lean into the COVID  19 disruption and encourage safe distancing and no kooties with a Jacksonville Jaguars facemask. Proceeds are being donated to the CDC. No one knows how schools will continue but most likely, there will still be some online learning. These Sony headphones get good reviews and are a penny under $100.  Or give them a gift card to Sunrise Surf Shop in Jacksonville Beach where they can find great Pura Vida arm candy, new vans, and much more.

High School:

For Ponte Vedra High School grads, something to remind them of home as they prepare to spread their wings can be a thoughtful gesture. For girls, a popular choice is a shark tooth necklace from Ellie Bing, with a store now open in Ponte Vedra Beach.  Dome Headware sells some great local hats. Mike-Ler was a recent fav and hopefully will be restocked.  Beau Outfitters in San Marco has some great options for the recent grad including a 904 Needlepoint Koozie, perfect for the preppy kiddo.  Those headed away to college may appreciate a pin flag from The Players to decorate their dorm room, available at the golf shop at TPC Sawgrass.

At the very least some acknowledgment of the milestone, even a card or a plate of cookies is a nice way to make the kids feel special.
