Valley Ridge Academy in Nocatee has been open four years. The school has grown by leaps and bounds and is already loved by many. Maria Salomon is spearheading the PTO Board for a 2nd year and hopes to continue the inroads the PTO board made in making newcomers and oldtimers feel welcome.
What made you want to take on the job of PTO president?
I took the job as PTO President because I felt I had enough experience to help guide the team.What are your top two goals this year?
My top 2 goals this year are to make new parents feel welcome and comfortable to volunteer at Valley Ridge and secondly, to create a community feel for teachers, children, parents and staff.
What is most striking to you about VRA? The good? The bad?
Most striking to me is the dedication of our teachers. Top notch! We welcome anyone who has the time to contribute to making Valley Ridge a better place for our children.
Do you have a fundraising goal? If so, what is your number? What was last years #?
We plan to host a 2nd Fun Run this year. Last year we raised $55,000 and installed 4 long-awaited sunshade structures on our playground and installed 4 water bottle filtration systems throughout the building.
What is your expectation of PTO members?
