PVPV Rawlings Elementary is not only home of the Sea Turtles but an amazing Parent Teach Organization (PTO) that pours in to the school, its teachers, faculty and students. We’ve said “It Takes a Village” and support of the PTO is essential is each and every school. PVPV Rawlings is fortunate to have Jennifer Cleek as PTO President. We caught up with Jennifer to find out more information about PVPV Rawlings, the PTO and how parents can help pave the way for their students.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and how/why you became involved in the PTO
My name is Jennifer Cleek and I have been involved with the PTO since my oldest started in kindergarten. PVPV Rawlings is the 4th PTO I have been involved in. My husband Brian and I have 3 boys, Wyatt (13), Hudson (11) and Theodore (9).
What’s the most impressive thing about Ponte Vedra High School that you would like others to know?
The most impressive thing about PVPV Rawlings are the teachers & staff who are so committed to the children and also the amazing families who support PVPV Rawlings and bring such diversity and kindness to the school.
What areas would you consider for improvement?
We always strive for improvement in the amount of resources we can provide to the teachers to enrich the children’s education.
What can we do as a PTO to make our families feel like family and a real community?
PVPV Rawlings teachers and staff make the school feel like family and PTO supports that effort and wants to continue to include and have outreach to the school families and keep them connected daily to the wonderful teachers of our children.
Do you have a particular fundraising goal and area to use the money in mind this year for PTO dollars?
PVPV Rawlings is an older school. We continue to look for ways to improve the school. Last year we fundraised for a new playground at PVPV and a PE Pavilion for Rawlings. This year we want to take the classrooms outdoors by creating outdoor classrooms at both buildings. We also added fun games to our blue top.
What’s one thing a new parent in the community should know about your school?
Any new parent should know that PVPV Rawlings and the PTO is here for them to enjoy the experience and any transition of their children attending our school and that the school culture is all about kindness and providing a safe and fun place for children to learn and socialize with friends.
If you could ask one thing of each parent at your school, what would it be?
We simply ask our parents to enjoy their children’s experience at PVPV Rawlings.
Anything else?
Thank you to our teachers, staff, and parents. PVPV Rawlings has always held a special place in this community. The PTO is proud to play a small part in contributing to the legacy.
