The Plantation of Ponte Vedra, a gated, “country club” community in Ponte Vedra Beach with inclusive amenities galore, is hosting a neighborhood-wide open house on Sunday, April 29 from 1 pm to 5 pm.

If you’ve never been in the Plantation, it really is spectacular, with stately homes overlooking the recently revamped golf course. The community is beautifully landscaped with loads of endemic oak trees, and it is easily one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in all of Northeast Florida.
It’s an equity membership community (the only of its kind in our area) where membership is required for all homeowners, and it offers a lovely lifestyle of inclusive golf, tennis, a clubhouse (with great food!), fitness, croquet courts, weekly clinics and classes for adults and kids, as well as a wonderful summer camp program for children. There are extra fees for camps and classes, but regular use of the facilities and amenities is included in your dues. In addition to the in-neighborhood amenities, it also has a top of the line private beach club. (Side note: they have pet access to the beach for dog lovers.)
The golf course was completely renovated in 2016, and an amenity park that includes a playground, open pavilion, an open park space for casual sports, and croquet courts was added then as well. Other 2016 renovations include the Beach Club.
Neighborhood Personality
Tricia Stenwall, her husband, and four children moved into the Plantation two years ago. She said it is a great place to call home after moving here from California in 2016.
“I love the sense of community. All so welcoming and inclusive from invites to dinner to events here at the Plantation,” said Stenwall. “We walk every day and are constantly engaging in conversation with other walkers and meeting new people.”
As a newcomer, Stenwall said she’s heard others say they didn’t buy in the Plantation because they didn’t view it as a family-friendly neighborhood.
“We feel just the opposite,” she said. “With high schoolers, we are close to the school. Both kids have friends nearby. There are families with younger and older kids, and its a great meld of lifestyles. All are welcome!”
Plantation Membership: Explain the Equity Membership
The current membership fee for The Plantation is $40,000, which is reflected on a new homeowners closing or settlement statement.
What makes the equity membership unique (and more palatable than other club memberships) is that upon the sale of a home, the seller receives a portion of that initiation fee back at closing (currently $20,000), and the new owner, then, takes on the advantages of your membership.

Plantation Open House Details
There will be an estimated 20 open homes on Sunday, April 29 with prices ranging from $500,000 to over $2,000,000. The community feels luxurious regardless of price point, be it a patio home or a larger estate lot.
All amenities will be open for viewing during the open house, with staff on hand. Check in at the clubhouse for a tour and grab a map of open properties.
The Plantation is located off of A1A, just North of Mickler Road.
