With seven distinct clubs shaping daily life along this stretch of coast, from oceanfront resorts steeped in nearly a century of history to a golf and tennis compound tucked along the marsh, the choice comes down to lifestyle more than anything else.
Here is a real look at what each club offers, amenity by amenity, so you can picture your own life inside the gates.
Ponte Vedra Inn & Club
Start at the beginning, literally. Ponte Vedra Inn & Club traces its roots to 1928, when a log cabin clubhouse and a nine-hole golf course put this stretch of coast on the map. Today it is a AAA Five-Diamond property and, by most measures, the most amenity-dense club in Ponte Vedra Beach.
Members have access to two championship 18-hole golf courses with an ocean-breeze links character, a Racquet Club with tennis and pickleball, and a fitness experience that includes more than 80 exercise classes a week. The Spa is a destination in its own right, with an outdoor hydrotherapy pool and a full menu of treatments. Families lean on The Nursery for childcare and a full slate of Summer Youth Camps, while the oceanfront pool complex includes a water slide, lap lanes, and a zero-entry wading pool built for small children.
Dining is where the Inn & Club separates itself. Members choose from close to a dozen outlets, from the Seahorse Grille's Sunday brunch to the casual Surf Deck Grille with weekend live music. The club is currently in the middle of a multi-year renovation of its Sports Club and oceanfront Surf Club, with completion projected for early 2027, and members have interim gym, dining, and pool access in the meantime. Members also enjoy reciprocal privileges at The Lodge & Club just down the road, with a complimentary shuttle connecting the two properties.
The Lodge & Club
The Lodge is the Inn & Club's sister property, sitting closer to Corona Road with its own distinct, more relaxed personality. Where the Inn & Club feels like a grand estate, the Lodge feels like a beach house that happens to have a five-star kitchen.
The setup centers on two pools: an adults-only pool overlooking the ocean and a large family pool with lap lanes across the street from the beach, complete with a splash park and waterslide for kids. The gym here is well-equipped, and the spa-style locker rooms include sauna and steam. Dining runs through The Innlet Dining Room, The Oasis, and the Sea View Lounge, plus a seasonal food truck that parks by the family pool. Weekly touches, like taco specials at Barefoot Bistro and mermaid appearances at the family pool, keep the calendar feeling more like a resort than a country club.
Two things set the Lodge apart from every other club on this list. It is dog-friendly, a rarity for an oceanfront club, and it offers members complimentary use of sea kayaks, paddleboards, and bike cruisers along with the standard beach chairs and umbrellas. Like the Inn & Club, Lodge members get reciprocal access to their sister property's golf, tennis, and spa. A second phase of construction, expected to begin around 2028, will eventually add a new fitness center, pools, and a parking facility.
TPC Sawgrass
TPC Sawgrass is a golf club first, and it does not pretend otherwise. This is the home of THE PLAYERS Championship and the Stadium Course's famous island-green 17th, one of the most photographed holes in the sport. The Dye's Valley Course is the membership track, offering a slightly gentler round without sacrificing the design pedigree.
The center of the operation is a 77,000-square-foot Mediterranean-style clubhouse, one of the largest of its kind in the state. It houses a full-service Golf Shop, an expansive gallery of PLAYERS Championship history, multiple dining rooms, and banquet space for private events. Members get member-only pricing on dining and merchandise, access to practice facilities including a full driving range and short-game area, and the ability to play TPC courses around the world through the club's reciprocal network.
This is not a beach club or a family recreation compound. There are no pools or tennis courts on-site tied to TPC membership itself; those amenities live at The Yards, a separate club within the same Sawgrass Players Club community. What TPC Sawgrass offers is a golf pedigree and a level of course conditioning that few private clubs in the country can match.
Marsh Landing Country Club
Marsh Landing sits along the Intracoastal Waterway in the northeast corner of Ponte Vedra Beach, and the setting defines the club. The 18-hole, par-72 course, designed by Ed Seay of Arnold Palmer Course Design, winds through marsh and towering pines, with the front nine tracing the Intracoastal Waterway and long views over the water from several holes.
Off the course, the club runs on a 10-court Har-Tru tennis facility (eight lit for night play) with a full-time tennis pro staff, a fitness center with personal trainers and group classes, and a junior Olympic-sized pool that hosts a spring swim team. The clubhouse itself holds two dining rooms, ranging from casual lunches to formal event space, and the club recently kicked off a capital improvement plan that includes a re-grassed driving range and a clubhouse rebuild.
Because Marsh Landing sits on the Intracoastal, residents in the Harbour Island section have direct boat access from private docks, a feature unique to this club among the seven. Membership here skews toward families and golfers who want a quieter, more residential club experience away from the ocean, with a strong roster of kids' camps, leagues, and clinics that make it easy to build a social life around the calendar.
Sawgrass Country Club
Sawgrass Country Club is the rare club that gives members both the golf and the beach without needing two memberships. The 27-hole championship course anchors the golf side, while a separate, oceanfront Beach Club, connected by a short drive across Ponte Vedra Boulevard, handles everything else.
The Beach Club is a genuine social hub. The Topsider Lounge and Bistro brings live music and dancing several nights a week, oceanfront decks host the Caribbean-style Oasis Bar, and the Pavilion and Sandbar Bistro serves up casual pizza, sandwiches, and ice cream just steps from the sand. Members split time between an adult lounging pool and a resort-style family pool, both with direct beach access. Back at the golf clubhouse, the Sawgrass Tennis Center, ranked among the nation's best by Tennis Magazine, offers 13 individually fenced Har-Tru courts, and the fitness center includes a heated lap pool and full class schedule.
Families are clearly a priority here. Sawgrass runs Child Play Care, kids' night out programs, after-school and summer camps, and a swim team, and roughly a quarter of the membership is under 55. The social calendar leans into wine tastings, holiday galas, beach yoga, and pickleball tournaments, giving the club a lived-in, neighborhood feel even though membership is open to residents beyond the gates.
The Cabana Club
The Cabana Club, more formally the Cabana Beach Club, is the private oceanfront club connected to the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa, accessible by a short complimentary shuttle from the resort. It occupies a stretch of Ponte Vedra's 26 miles of beachfront and recently went through a full reimagining of its facilities.
The centerpiece is a heated, family-friendly pool along with private beach access, umbrellas, and loungers. Dining has been elevated significantly with the addition of the 1912 Ocean Bar & Rooftop, a two-story restaurant serving fresh seafood, small plates, and craft cocktails with panoramic ocean views, joining the more casual Sea Porch downstairs. Watersports rentals, beachside fire pits, and a relaxed, resort-casual atmosphere round out the experience.
Cabana Club members also carry over the benefits of the broader Sawgrass Marriott property, including access to the resort's four pools, its 25,000-square-foot spa, and exclusive playing privileges at the adjacent TPC Sawgrass golf complex. It is a strong fit for members who want beach access with a resort feel rather than a traditional private club atmosphere, and it is open to members of all ages.
South Ponte Vedra Ocean Club
Formerly known as the Serenata Beach Club, South Ponte Vedra Ocean Club sits along the quieter southern stretch of Ponte Vedra Boulevard, roughly equidistant from the northern clubs and Nocatee for residents on that end of town. What it may lack in name recognition, it makes up for in a genuinely peaceful setting.
The club runs two pools, a seasonally heated family pool with a zero-entry wading area and a 12-foot waterfall, and a separate adults-only pool and hot tub overlooking the Atlantic. Oceanfront dining comes through the Turtle Cove Cafe and two private bars, and members get private beach access with reserved umbrellas, loungers, and beachfront parking, a genuine convenience given how limited public beach parking is in this part of town. A fitness center, personal training, nutritional coaching, and drop-in childcare round out the offering, and the social calendar includes separate programming for adults and youth so there is always something happening for every age group.
This is a club built for people who want oceanfront membership without the scale or formality of the Inn & Club or the Lodge. It draws a mix of families, retirees, and anyone who wants an easy, low-key beach routine close to home.
Finding the Right Fit
