It's hard to believe this is the 5th year of the Ponte Vedra Focus Blog Scholarship! It's been amazing to be able to help our local students achieve great things when leaving high school and this year will be no different. The annual Blog Scholarship is sponsored by The Volen Group at Keller Williams Luxury International and Gwinn Volen. Gwinn Volen is a top real estate agent in Ponte Vedra Beach and the creator of the Ponte Vedra Focus Blog.

All St. Johns County and Duval County graduating seniors who plan to continue their education in the college arena are eligible to participate in The Blog Scholarship. "Through the years, we've read some pretty amazing blogs created by high school seniors and we have loved including them on our blog as ways to further showcase all our area has to offer" says Gwinn Volen.

Last years winner, Niyati Patege, wrote a delightful article on Top Asian Food Finds in Jacksonville. Her blog toured us around Jacksonville to some of the hidden treasures where you can find some of the diverse Asian cuisine. Other previous winning and finalist blogs included:

All blog submissions should be well written articles on something interesting about the Greater Jacksonville area. Entries should all have a local flavor and can be serious or funny. The top five best submissions will be published on the Ponte Vedra Focus blog and the best blog writer will receive a check for $1,000.

“We encourage any students with a love for writing to submit an article,” said Volen. “There are not any restrictions on school choice or GPA. Our goal is to reward one student every year with some added cushion to what is truly an expensive four years of continuing education and perhaps lessen some financial anxiety.”

Deadline for submissions is March 10, 2023.

Details on submissions rules can be found here.
