Ponte Vedra High School student Anna Auchter has been named the recipient of the Ponte Vedra Focus Blog Writing Scholarship, sponsored by Young & Volen of Ponte Vedra Club Realty. She will receive a $1000 check towards college expenses.
The annual award recognizes an area high school senior who writes “the most compelling community-oriented blog post.” Auchter’s blog article entitled “Fall in Love with a Farmer’s Market” was selected from numerous entries.
Auchter’s article, along with the top five entries, will all be posted on the Ponte Vedra Focus blog in the next few weeks.
Auchter is a senior at Ponte Vedra High School in the International Business and Marketing Academy and will be attending Florida State University in the Fall with a planned major in English and International Affairs. Her first year will be with FSU’s International Study Abroad Program in London.
Auchter has a strength and passion for writing and aspires to be an attorney for the Southern Poverty Law Center. She is a member of the National Honor Society and those of English, Art, Science, Math, and French.
Among numerous academic honors, she is an award-winning painter in scholastic competitions and the Northeast Florida Art Education Association.
Additionally, she founded and is president of the PVHS Young Democrats of America Club and is president of several other ethically-minded clubs at school.
Auchter’s community involvement includes tutoring other students, church, and causes advancing the rights of those underserved. And in her spare time, she is a studio athlete and a private pilot. What?! She is self-proclaimed “foodie,” passionate about civil rights, traveling, her cats and a devoted parishioner at Christ Episcopal Church.
Congratulations to Anna Auchter on a job well done. For details on the scholarship, which will be offered again next year, see the following link: https://www.pontevedrafocus.com/scholarship/
