Meet Kira Lamb
A Jacksonville transplant by way of Michigan and Ft. Lauderdale, Kira Lamb feels most at home in Jacksonville Beach, where she can drop in furthest east and dip her toes in the sand! As a little girl Kira was always interested in art of all kinds when her 1st grade teacher, Ms. Jackson, helped her to hone in on those skills. “I have always had a passion for art and recall a drawing I made for the principal of my school that received so much praise that it was hung in the school’s hallway.” While that passion may have slightly dwindled for a short time, it was never completely lost.
Kira is vey “Lambitous” in her endeavors, most comfortable in positions that bring creative nature into humanitarian causes and is inspired by the need to make a difference. Kira is now an accomplished photographer, painter and graphic artist who focuses her business, Jamma Lamb Studio Art, on custom dog portraits, dog themed paintings, and custom pet and nature photography. What has driven her passion for this art? When her dog, Maynerd, a 55lb Boxer Doberman mix, passed away in 2019, Kira wanted to memorialize him with a painting. That is when she decided to turn her talent into a business. “I’ve always had such strong love for animals and realized that dog owners want to commemorate their dogs in a beautiful way and at different stages of their life as well.”
In 2020 amidst the pandemic Kira launched Jamma Lamb Studios. JLS provides custom portrait paintings of your pup(s). Dog owners can provide the photo or Kira, also a photographer, can take the photo. Each painting takes 2-4 weeks for production. But that’s not all! JLS can also take a hi-res photograph and replicate the original artwork onto any of the Functional Art Products including beach towels, frisbees and outdoor garden or house flags with a larger variety of products coming very soon. “It’s not always easy to get the perfect picture of your pet. They move, run, wiggle and they don’t understand the term “say cheese,” Kira jokingly says, “that’s why I also offer a photo taking option where I can change the background and ensure the product is picture perfect.”
Jamma Lamb Studio Art uses both a combination of art, photography and digital sublimation printing to ensure high detail, vivid color, custom photos as functional art items. With quick turnaround from their North Carolina printing facility, JLS digitally prints each item by hand, piece by piece and directly ships to customers. “Everyone LOVES their pets and items with their furry family member’s photo make such personal and thoughtful gifts. The holiday season gets very busy so customers should place their order online from the Jamma Lamb Studio Art website no later than December 3, 2021 to receive in time for Christmas.”
You can find Kira’s smiling face with her two best friend Great Danes, Stan Lee (170lbs) and Bueller (100lbs) and Jamma Lamb Studio Art at local Pop Up Markets including the North Beach Artwalk (Neptune & Atlantic Beach) on the third Thursday of every month. JLS products are also available at:
