We’ve posted several things on here about testing in St John’s County (see links below). School Superintendent Joseph Joyner created a Testing Taskforce last spring to help address some of the concerns about school testing and the problems with this year’s testing.
There will be a School Board Workshop meeting tomorrow morning (nothing like late notice…busy day) at 8:30am, and testing will be a key point of the meeting. The public is welcome to attend.
Folks, tomorrow is your last chance to have your voice heard regarding school testing before the school board votes. Decisions will likely determine the outlook of school testing in St. John’s County for several years.
I’m on the PTO board at PVPV/Rawlings and heard Dr. Joyner speak at a teacher back to school luncheon today. He touched on the fact that elementary testing will be reduced. That news received a standing ovation from the teachers. Standing ovation! Tomorrow’s meeting will provide final direction towards a decision.
If you have an opinion, slip out of your jammies and go speak up before final decisions are made. The school board meets at 40 Orange Street, St Augustine, FL 32084.
