As responsible pet owners, we must help our dogs feel safe and calm during the firework festivities. Here are five strategies to soothe your dog and take the stress out of the celebration.

Create a Safe Haven

Designate a safe space in your home where your dog can retreat to during fireworks. This area should be a quiet, enclosed space, such as a bedroom or a cozy corner. Provide comfortable bedding, favorite toys, and familiar scents to make it a comforting little sanctuary for your dog. Keep the door closed to reduce noise and distractions.

Let's face it, our dogs ARE family and there's nothing more comforting than coming home after a long day and "Man's Best Friend" is there wagging his tail and showing us all the love, affection and loyalty that makes us forget about our wretched day.

I'll be completely honest, the best part of lockdown in 2020 was being home with my dog!
