It’s true! V Pizza, which is set to open it’s new Ponte Vedra Beach location located at 154 Canal Boulevard in the next few weeks, is serving free pizza and wings Wednesday, August 28th, from 5 PM to 8 PM. What?!
This is a community-building event, not a soft launch (so hold the reviews, it’s not time!!). It will be run by the V Pizza mobile catering division which has a mobile pizza oven, though there may be opportunities for a sneak peek inside the restaurant.
In exchange for the free bites, a donation to the V for Victory foundation, a non-profit organization supporting local families affected by cancer, is appreciated. There’s no set donation amount. There is nothing too big or too small. Give what you can to support a great cause!
The pizza and wings are promised until they run out. What’s not promised is a lack of fun mayhem and unlimited parking.
Collage Day School has graciously agreed to allow parking in their lots, but please be cautious when walking down the side of Canal.
Ponte Vedrans, if you have never tried V Pizza, you are in for a treat. The impetus for V Pizza came after a trip to Italy. The owners fell in “food love” and wanted to bring authentic Neapolitan Pizza back to Jacksonville.
The recipes they brought to us are truly amazing! The flour, the cheese and the tomato sauce, as well as many of the other ingredients, are all imported, as are the ovens which reach 900 degrees and cook a pizza in a short few minutes.
Some of my personal favorites and must-trys are the Pizza Paolo and the Margherita – V Signature style. The wings are also phenomenal. If you like a little kick, the spicy Calabrian wings are a must-try.

Target opening date is September 7th, though that could shift.
V Pizza, and it’s accompanying cocktail lounge, Julep, is sure to be a hit. If you can’t make the Wednesday event, be sure to put it on your radar for September.
