What’s Up Wednesday

We would like to be here curled up with a book when the temps are this chilly.

    Weekend  Plans:

Thursday, January 30-  Souper Bowl V: A Fundraiser to End Student Hunger in St Johns County. Great restaurants join great kids for a great cause.

Saturday, February 1- Goat Yoga is at peek popularity. Give it a try this weekend at Little Peeps Farmer for a Day.

Sunday, February 2 – Super Bowl  Sunday Adoption Bowl at the Jacksonville Humane Society.  Look at all the cuties available for half-price adoptions on Super Bowl Sunday from 10 – 5 PM.

    This & That:

Can’t wait for Sunday? Adweek has published all the newest and available commercials for the 2020  Super Bowl.

For help picking good bets for the big game check out  Danny Sheridan.

Great menu ideas for a crowd can be found here and if your group is trending vegetarian, Good Housekeeping has a good roundup of ideas.  For all the vegans with an air fryer, Well & Good has some good recipes.

    Pop Culture:

The Grammy’s were Sunday. If you missed seeing it live, Rolling Stone has a round-up of best and worst moments and the  LATimes did the fashion.

Speaking of fashion, the Victoria Secret brand has not been doing well and there are reports of the CEO selling his stakes.  Meanwhile, another executive from Victoria Secret has just been named CEO of struggling retailer J.Crew.

Of course most of the talk this week has been the sudden death of Kobe Bryant.

Closer to home, not pop-culture but local news, is the ongoing drama at JEA. Full coverage is available from Jackonvillle.com
