What’s Up Wednesday

Amazing things are happening in our neck of the woods!

Weekend Plans:

Saturday, February 8 – Mr. Fintastic is pure joy. Watch and cheer on senior PVHS boys as they compete for the title.

Sunday, February 9 –   It’s the first annual Jacksonville’s Food and Wine Festival with food, wine and more. General admission is free or purchase some  VIP tickets.

All weekend: It’s the Donna Run Weekend. A full schedule of events can be found here.

This & That:

A very deserving  Calais Campbell won the NFL Man of the Year award.  Also making news, the Jaguars 2020 home schedule will include two back to back games in London.

Nordstrom just opened up a secondhand store. See You Tomorrow has a storefront in NYC and is also available online.

It’s been a  tough 2020 for supermarkets. Earth Fare announced this week they are closing all stores.  On the bright side, local favorite Native Sun is re-opening!

Pop Culture:

Hamilton, the record-breaking musical, is being made into a movie with the original cast.  Lucky us, the show will also be at the Times Union Center in Jacksonville late March.

The KC Chiefs might have won the game but Shakira and JLo won the audience.  This op-ed by author Jennifer Weiner condenses the conversations that are taking place on social media about Jennifer Lopez.

Oscars are on Sunday and no one is more excited than the Academy of Motion Pictures & Sciences. They apparently tweeted their Oscar “predictions” before taking the tweets down.  If you haven’t seen JoJo Rabbit, Parasite or 1917 you may want to sign up for Tinsletown’s  Oscar Movie Week Badge.  JoJo Rabbit is available to stream on Amazon and Parasite is also on-demand if staying in is more appealing.
