    What’s Up Wednesday

The big news this week is the devastating fires in Australia. Here is an article from USA Today on how to help.

    Weekend Plans:

Locally, it’s a little quiet which is perfect for exploring.  Friday, eat at one of  Jacksonville Magazine‘s List of top 50 restaurants.  If you start now you can go to one a week and try all of them by 2021.  Saturday, run in the Times Union Half Marathon and then head over to Riverside Arts Market to pick up fresh veggies for the week.  Sunday, head to Surfer Bar for a free Big Fish Yoga class. Monday, enjoy Clemson take on LSU in the  CFP National Championship at Bogey’s,  voted best sports bar.

    New Year:

Snopes on if you should avoiding writing a check with the year ending in 2020 instead of 20.

The biggest food trends coming in 2020 according to Food and Wine.

Jag’s quarterback Gardner Minshew is hitting the road.

The Golden Globe awards were on Sunday Night. 1917 was a big winner, taking home the Globe for best drama and best director.  Here are some fun fashion pix from the after-parties, a recap of the ceremony and what, if anything it means for the Oscar race.

It’s probably not going to win any awards but. the new season of the Bachelor premiered. I did not watch but after reading this (profanity-laced)  recap I might have to tune in. From Vulture, “Yes, The Bachelor has all the elements of the greatest love story ever told: a house that might legally be considered a brothel, stamina-based elimination challenges, and Chris Harrison.”
