South Ponte Vedra / Vilano Real Estate
South Ponte Vedra is typically considered the strip of land on A1A between Mickler Road and Vilano Beach. It is flanked by the Atlantic Ocean and much of Guana State Park. The addresses all carry a Ponte Vedra Boulevard address. The addresses for the area start in the 2000 block and go through the 3000 block.
SOUTH PONTE VEDRA REAL ESTATE
South Ponte Vedra has a very remote feel too it, though it’s only 15-20 minutes to Ponte Vedra Beach and Vilano, where the closest Publix is. For Californians, I would call this the PCH of Northeast Florida.
Oceanfront living is more affordable in South Ponte Vedra than in Old Ponte Vedra. Serenata Beach Club is located in this area, and it has pools, dining and fitness. There are also some destination restaurants in South Ponte Vedra — Cap’s on the Water and Aunt Kate’s.
VILANO BEACH
Vilano Beach is the area on A1A where the road essentially dead ends before taking a right towards St Augustine. It has an interesting history to it and has a definite beach town feel to it. Vilano is just two miles from downtown St Augustine.
Both areas are in St John’s County and are zoned for St John’s County schools. A portion of South Ponte Vedra is zoned for Ocean Palms Elementary, Landrum Middle, and Ponte Vedra High School, while the southern most portion of South Ponte Vedra is zoned for Ketterlinus, Sebastian Middle, and St Augustine High. Vilano is all the latter. If schools are of interest to you, it’s always best to contact St Johns County for exact zoning specifics.
