Ponte Vedra Beach is built upon alot of history. Once known as Mineral City after minerals were found along the coastline in 1914, it was later renamed "Ponte Vedra" by Colonel Stehlin after World War I and development began to recreate a community similar to The Cloister in Sea Island, Georgia.
